Applegate Dentistry and MedSpa is a nurse practitioner led medical spa in Covington, Kentucky, founded in July 2024 by Dr. Barry Applegate, DMD, a cosmetic and general dentist who has cared for Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati families since 1993. He opened the med spa to carry the same attention he brings to beautiful smiles into wellness and aesthetic care. Since the day we opened, this has been a calm, unhurried place for our guests and for our team of five, all of whom have stayed with us, and every part of our range of treatments is built around that feeling.

Dr. Barry Applegate, DMD Founder, Cosmetic and General Dentist Barry Applegate, DMD, is a cosmetic dentist in Covington, KY and the owner and founder of Applegate Dentistry & MedSpa. He has served Covington, Kentucky and the Cincinnati, Ohio area since 1993, building a cosmetic and general dental practice around personalized treatment plans and gentle, unhurried care. In July 2024 he opened Applegate Medical Spa as an extension of that practice, bringing advanced wellness and aesthetic treatments to the same office on Greenup Street. The through line is anatomy. My medical career was built in high-stakes clinical settings, managing complex patient health with absolute precision and safety. My passion for anatomical detail led me to pursue advanced, elite training in medical aesthetics, earning additional board credentials through the prestigious American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE).
As an APRN, my approach to aesthetic rejuvenation goes far beyond the surface. I view this medicine through a deep structural lens, combining a master-level understanding of underlying facial anatomy with state-of-the-art technologies like our RF Microneedling system and medical weight loss programs.
I don't just offer these cutting-edge wellness and anti-aging treatments; I am a dedicated fan and user of them myself. I strictly curate our service menu to include only the highest-quality, non-surgical modalities that deliver visible, safe, and long-lasting results. When I'm not in our private, one-on-one clinical suite tailoring bespoke treatment plans for my local patients, you can find me enjoying life as a wife, proud mom to a wonderful grown young man, and an absolute doting parent to my little Maltese dog.
